This Sunday we will wrap up our sermon series by unpacking the story of Lazarus being raised from the dead. This story is most definitely a foreshadowing to what Jesus would do Himself in a few days, as He would rise from the dead. But this story is also a reminder that Jesus can turn every storm, including death, into victory. If Jesus can resurrect the dead, He can see us through any storm. We don't have to fear the storm when we are with Jesus. Join us Sunday for another incredible time of fellowship and worship.
This Sunday, we will unpack one of the toughest books for a follower of Jesus to read, in my opinion. One reason that it is difficult for me to wrap my head around the Book of Job is that I walk away with more questions than answers, and I like answers. The question that we will try to tackle is, "What do we do in the midst of tragedy?" Join us as we unpack Job's story and learn how we can face life's devastating and tragic turns.
Some of the storms of life are thrust upon us by divine circumstance or by others, outside of our control. However, there are times that the storms in our lives are a direct cause of our sin. God warned us in the beginning that sin would lead to death. This Sunday, we will look at life's sinful turns and what we can do when we find ourselves in a storm of our own making. Join us as we look at sin's destructive impact and God's incredible forgiveness and healing.
The one interesting thing about Georgia weather is that it can change quickly. One moment the sun is shining and the birds are singing, and the next thing you know, there is a severe thunderstorm popping up out of nowhere. Similarly, the storms of life can come upon us suddenly, without warning. We have seen this take place with the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. It reminds me of what Paul said in Ephesians 6:13, “Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground.” Paul says that as we live in this world, the “day of evil” will come. It’s not IF it comes, but WHEN it comes. What can we do? Over the next few weeks, we will talk about life's unexpected turns and how we need to prepare ourselves for the storms of life.
