My 2 Cents
We're beginning a new sermon series centered around giving. There are a lot of things that we can give to others. We can give our money, our time, our energy, and the list goes on and on.

This Sunday, we will focus on the importance of giving the gift of Hospitality to others. We will look at the story of Zacchaeus and watch as Jesus gives a tax collector hospitality, which leads to a changed life.
Join us Sunday as we unpack the importance of hospitality in the Kingdom of God.

How does one become great at giving when it comes to money? And why is it important to God that we excel in this area? Does God "need" our money?

In Mark 12, Jesus was watching people give their offerings at the temple. He saw the large amounts that the wealthy people were giving, but then Jesus spied a poor widow as she put in two small copper coins. We are told in Mark 12:43-44, "Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, 'Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.'”

This Sunday, we will talk about why giving is important and how God views our gifts to Him.

As we wrap up our series on giving, we are going to look at Matthew 16—where Jesus lays out what we must give in order to follow Him. And it all begins in the changing of our minds. Jesus says to Peter in Matthew 16:23, “You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.” In order to make a real change in our lives, we must focus on the things of God. Happy Thanksgiving to each of you and I look forward to seeing you this Sunday!
