Along the way Jesus stopped, engaged, helped and walked with those who desperately needed the hope that only He could provide. This Sunday we will focus on how we can disciple or walk with someone to help them walk one step closer to Christ. Join us as we unpack what it means to walk alongside others so that they might grow in their faith.
In our quest to learn how Jesus was able to impact so many people along the way, we have noted that Jesus stopped and engaged with others. This week, we will focus on the help that Jesus provided for those in need. Interestingly, Jesus not only helped those that had a physical need but also those who found themselves trapped in Religion.
Religion can leave us in a worthless cycle of striving to earn our way to heaven. Jesus stepped into our world to help those caught in the loop of empty religious practices. On Sunday, we will highlight the importance of having a relationship with Christ and how we can help others walk one step closer to Jesus.
This Sunday, we will continue our sermon series, “Along the Way,” discussing how we can impact our neighbors for Christ. We will unpack the importance of engaging with the people around us. It is one thing to see a ministry need, but we must also engage our hearts, minds and resources to help others walk one step closer to Christ.
Have you ever noticed how Jesus was never in a hurry? Nowhere in scripture do we ever hear of Jesus running anywhere! He doesn’t rush from person to person in hopes that He can just “glad-hand” people and be on His way.
The strange part is that—in spite of never getting in a rush—Jesus seemed to make time for everyone. He made time for the people he encountered along the way as he traveled from place to place. He seemed to have a knack for seeing every person, every need, and being willing to meet those needs.
