Our plans can be Thwarted-frustrated-bested-ruined by the enemy, but God’s Plans NEVER Fail. And the trick is to implement God’s plans for our lives, because God always knows and plans bets. So what we want to do today is for us to pray and read and seek God’s PLAN for His Church here at MC3 in this New Year.
It's interesting to me that we use the phrase "Merry Christmas," but for some people, this time of the year is anything but Merry. Instead of being "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year," many people see as the most miserable time of the year." It's odd that in a season filled with joy and peace and, in particular, HOPE, hope can be hard to find. This Sunday we will talk about a little known character by the name of Simeon and we will learn that "No miracle we seek is beyond Hope."
Everyone is searching for something. The Wisemen and Jews were searching for a new king. We all a looking for something to fulfill our lives. This week we will discuss searching for Jesus, the one true king that is the only one that can fulfill our longings.
One thing I love about Christmas are the lights: the lights on the tree, the outdoor lighted decorations, the luminaries. There is something fun, exciting and even peaceful about lights at Christmastime. John 1:9 tells us that Jesus, the true light, "gives light to everyone." Maybe you or someone you know is in desperate need of the light that only Jesus can provide. This Sunday we will talk about how the arrival of Jesus brought new light to a very dark world and how we can share that light with others. Join us as together we share the Light in our world.
Ponder these thoughts as we prepare our hearts for this week's message:
- Expecting what can be.
- Letting something go.
- Forgetting the past.
