Life is filled with missteps, mistakes and missed opportunities. Live this life long enough, and there will be plenty of room for regrets. But Jesus came to right our wrongs, to wipe the slate clean, and give us a chance to redo what has already been done. Jesus says in John 10:10: "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." This Sunday, we will explore the opportunity that Jesus offers us to redo life and live it to the full.
Are you in need of ReStoration? Restoration is defined as "the action of returning something to a former owner, place, or condition." Since the fall of Adam and Eve, all mankind has been in need of restoration. In the moments after His resurrection, Jesus encounters two followers and begins to restore within them their hearts, their faith and their hope. This Sunday we will discuss how the resurrection of Jesus brings us a lasting restoration.
I think the word for the year 2020 for me will be "Unprecedented." There is no doubt that we are living in unprecedented times, and this week we stand poised before an unprecedented Sunday. But it's not unprecedented because, for the first time, we will be totally online; this Sunday stands unprecedented because it is the day that the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords walked victoriously out of the tomb. Sin was conquered, and death was completely routed. Everything changed for you and me on that unprecedented Sunday.
In life, many times we want a "do-over" like we did when we were kids playing kickball. We may not have that opportunity in many areas of life, but God does allow us that opportunity. This week we will look at two men that encountered Jesus. One walks away from Renewal, and the other runs to the Renewing that only Jesus can bring.
