This Sunday we will unpack the final "C" in becoming a fully devoted follower of Christ. We will discover the importance of committing our life to Christ. We will learn that we need to commit our 2 biggest commodities that we have been given in this life: our money and our time. We will look at Matthew 19, where Jesus asks a rich young man to give these two gifts away. What Jesus asked of this man, and what He asks of us is "Undivided loyalty and full-hearted Obedience." We will uncover that if we want to be fully devoted, then we need to give, as Jesus calls us to give, and we need to follow Him no matter where He may take us.
This Sunday we will talk about the importance of connecting to Christ and to one another. The first thing we want to encourage everyone at MC3 to do is Connect with the Lord. We were designed, created, and purposed to connect with Christ. We were also made to connect with each other for edification and for encouragement. So join us this Sunday as we discover the importance of staying connected.
This Sunday we will unpack the importance of Celebrating weekly in worship. In Hebrews 10:24-25, we read, "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching." What we will learn is that when we worship together weekly, we have an opportunity to draw near to God with one another. Does this mean that we can't draw near to God on our own? No, we certainly can, and should draw near to God on a daily basis. But doing this on our own ONLY can leave us one dimensional and can cause us to miss out on encouraging one another, and being encouraged by the body of believers.
Somehow we, as Christ followers, have complicated the simplest of directives from Jesus. In Matthew 28:19 Jesus says, "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." This call to make disciples of all nations is not a call to focus on believers, but it is a call to "go" after the lost, and make them into fully devoted followers. This Sunday we will unpack Luke 15 where Jesus sheds light on the importance of going after the ONE who is lost.
